FAQs

How do I find the right photographer?

Do some research.  Think about the style of photography you want.  Have a good look at their website portfolio and check them out on social media.  Do you see yourself in the photos?  Check out my blog on documentary style wedding photography here, for example.  Reach out to them by email or phone and have a chat.  Did you feel relaxed in their company?  Did they seem like a good fit for you?  Friendly?  Approachable?  Trust your gut...and be mindful of hidden expenses.

Why should I choose Winter Peach Photography?

I'm not going to overwhelm you with a sales speech.  What I will tell you is that I aim to deliver photos you will want to share with your grandkids.  Your legacy.  I'm not about forced portraits that look totally unnatural.  I want your final set of images to move you - make you feel something - and serve as a joyous reminder of your day and all of the thought, people and details that made it yours and yours alone.  You may say you don't like yourself in photos (I hear that all the time from couples before their big day) and heads up, there's no magic wand that can change that.  But trust me when I say that in years to come, you will love every single photo because each time you look at one, you will be instantly transported back to that precise point in time thanks to a genuine and authentic memory and all of the feelings tied up with it, as opposed to an artificially orchestrated "moment."

Which areas do you cover?

I'm lucky in that I'm centrally based in the West Midlands.  I usually cover West Midlands, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Herefordshire, but am open to venturing further afield.  Don't be afraid to ask!

Can we meet in the run up to the wedding/event?

Of course!  I usually offer a face to face meeting, but if you prefer a video call, phone call or even a WhatsApp chat, that's fine too.

When should we book our wedding photographer?

I would advise you to book as soon as possible, particularly if your event is planned for a Saturday, as weekends get busy, particularly in the summer months.

When and how is a booking confirmed?

Booking is confirmed as soon as I am in receipt of your signed contract (Don't be scared! See below) and a 20% deposit.  It will then be carved in stone by my own fair hand!  The balance will be due a couple of weeks before the event, although some clients prefer to pay it all in one go.

Why do we need to sign a contract?

My contract is an industry standard contract and protects us both.  It also covers issues like copyright.

How many photos will we get and how are they delivered?

It's always worth asking this question as many photographers cap how many photos clients receive and charge for any over and above this number.  I take multiples of the same scene and only send the ones that meet my own exacting standards, but I usually average around 60 per hour, depending on how much is going on at the time.  All of the final edited images will be yours to keep.  To keep costs down, I usually send them on a keepsake memory stick and/or via electronic transfer.  All photos are professionally edited by me.

We'd like some posed group shots.  Do you do these?

Absolutely!  Most couples expect this.  I usually ask clients to supply me with a wish list of group shots in advance and nominate a helper on the day to get everyone into position.

How long after the wedding can we expect to receive our edited images?

I usually aim to supply photos within two weeks, but quite often, it's earlier.  I usually get fully immersed once I begin the process!  Just bear in mind that there are always exceptions to this, particularly during very busy periods, but I will keep you informed on progress and will send you sneak peeks within 48 hours of your wedding.

We like your style.  What do we do now?

Just send me a booking enquiry with some basic details and I'll be in touch!
